Dr. Ryan Kasperowitsch’s Story
This work is shaped by years of experience in outdoor leadership, education, and high-responsibility environments.
I grew up in Ontario, but my passion for adventure has led me to explore and guide in some of Canada’s most awe-inspiring environments. From the rugged peaks of British Columbia, where I led backcountry ski and snowboard expeditions, to the scenic coasts of the Maritimes for sea kayaking, and transformative canoe and hiking trips in the wilds of Ontario, my journey has been shaped by a love for the outdoors. Navigating these diverse and challenging landscapes has taught me the true power of resilience and adaptability, as well as the importance of supporting others through physically and mentally demanding experiences.
Alongside my guiding career, I pursued my passion in academia, teaching educational philosophies at the university level with a focus on outdoor education. My work centered on transformational and experiential learning, helping students connect deeply with both their environment and themselves.
My doctoral research delved into perspective transformation through reflective practices, revealing that challenge-based activity paired with thoughtful reflection can lead to profound personal growth and lasting change.
Through these experiences, I have cultivated a unique skill set—blending evidence-based strategies, hands-on experience, and reflective practice. These approaches now form the foundation of my personal coaching, allowing me to guide others through their own transformative journeys, whether in the wilderness or the complexities of everyday life.
