Our Process

How progress is defined

Progress in coaching is defined by the achievement of specific, measurable goals that are established collaboratively at the outset of the engagement. Together, we track your development through ongoing reflection, regular check-ins, and periodic reassessment of your objectives to ensure they remain relevant and motivating. Success is not only measured by tangible outcomes but also by increased self-awareness, enhanced confidence, and the ability to independently apply new skills and strategies in your daily life.

What happens in the first session?

During our complimentary 20-minute introductory session, I begin by inviting you to share your goals, interests, and what you hope to achieve through coaching. I’ll introduce my approach and walk you through how my sessions are structured, so you know exactly what to expect. This initial conversation is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and clarify anything you’d like, and for both of us to see if the partnership feels like a good fit. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clear understanding of how the coaching process works and can decide if you’d like to move forward with next steps.

Expectations and boundaries (not therapy)

Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused process designed to support your personal or professional growth. Unlike therapy, coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, nor does it explore past trauma or psychological disorders. Instead, our sessions centre on setting actionable goals, building practical skills, and fostering self-awareness to help you navigate challenges and achieve desired outcomes.

As your coach, I am here to provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability. I will respect your confidentiality and maintain a professional relationship at all times. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions; coaching is not a substitute for clinical counselling, medical advice, or crisis intervention. If issues arise that are outside the scope of coaching, I will recommend seeking support from qualified mental health professionals.

Boundaries are essential for a productive coaching partnership. Sessions will be conducted in a safe, respectful environment, with clear communication and mutual trust. Our work together is goal-oriented, and you are encouraged to be open, honest, and proactive in pursuing your objectives. If you ever feel uncomfortable or wish to discuss boundaries, please feel free to raise your concerns—your well-being and autonomy are always a priority.

How many sessions are typical?

The number of coaching sessions varies based on individual needs and goals. Clients may find that a series of 5 to 10 sessions provides a solid foundation for meaningful progress, though some prefer to continue with regular sessions as part of their ongoing personal or professional development. The process is flexible and can be tailored to your schedule and evolving objectives, ensuring you receive ongoing support for as long as you find value in the coaching relationship.

If you’re exploring this work, you don’t need to have it all figured out. Clarity often comes through the process itself.
